LaToya G. Logan
An astute catalyst for change who is unwavering in her pursuit of equality, LaToya Logan is the founder and executive director of Project LIFT Services, a social justice and prevention agency. Throughout her career as a clinical social worker (LISW-S), LaToya has continuously demonstrated her commitment to advocacy and community education initiatives across the state of Ohio.

Specializing in trauma, cultural inclusivity, and recovery practices to foster sustained independence, LaToya uses innovative strategies to circumvent obstacles such as incarceration, homelessness, and mental instability related to communal and institutionalized dysfunction.
​
Following the formation of Project LIFT in 2016, Logan proudly served on the Cleveland Community Police Commission from 2016 - 2022, working towards police reform with a clear focus on accountability and transformational change. During her service, she was elected three times to serve as co-chair, while also holding roles as the Accountability Committee Chair and Training Review Liaison to the Cleveland Division of Police.

Additionally, LaToya served as the Region 3 Director and Board Member for the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, 2017 - 2021. As Regional Director, she worked to ensure that racial trauma is appropriately addressed and ultimately eradicated by implementing tangible practices that address racism’s historical and current role within the behavioral health field. She continues her service as the NASW-OH's National Delegate Assembly Member, reviewing, revision, and voting on the Code of Ethics and focus, as well as, a part of the Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression Committee.

LaToya is a certified Anti-Oppressive Informed Practitioner, specializing in the use of services and training to deconstruct norms that disempower historically disenfranchised populations. She is invested in transformational learning and investing in the next generation of professionals. She is an adjunct professor and field instructor at Case Western Reserve University Joseph, Jack, and Morton Mandel School for Applied Social Sciences, clinical preceptor at the University of Cincinnati, and a field instructor at Cleveland State University School of Social Work.

LaToya was recognized by the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter as “2021 Social Worker of the Year” and by The Ohio Child Welfare Training Program as “Rising Star of the Year” in 2022, for excellence in training and professional development. The staunch activist and Detroit native is currently based in Ohio and holds degrees from Michigan State University and Case Western Reserve University. She holds clinical licenses in Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program hosted at Cuyahoga Community College, Tri-C.
The Louis Stokes Community Service Leadership Award granted by the Alumni Association to an alumnus who embodies the socially-minded characteristics of the late beloved and honorable Congressman Louis Stokes.
